Peacock Festival Recap

The First Annual Peacock Festival was last Sunday, September 10, at the Perrine Winery. Activities included the RaceTexas’ Three Drinks 5K, Peacock Call Contest, and Dress-Your-Pet-Like-A-Peacock Contest. Vendors of all trades and styles were available at the festival as well. Although we don't have peacocks, we did bring some of our educational ambassadors to the festivities: Freyja, Hermes, and Tybalt. Rio Brazos Distillery shared their store with our booth. Volunteers informed guests about our mission, facts about the raptors, and Freyja’s art competition.

Speaking of, there are sixteen days left in the Perrine Winery Art Label Competition! Perrine Winery has teamed with the Urban Interface to create Freyja’s White, a new wine where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Urban Interface. This will be the second wine inspired by our ambassadors, after Dante’s Red. As we approach September 27, The Urban Interface will be collecting submissions for a Freyja’s White wine bottle label design. Submit your original Freyja-inspired artwork as a JPG or PNG file to enter the competition. More information can be found at theurbaninterface.com/competition .
